Barclaycard credit limit

Hi there

I took up Martin's advice from last week's email and applied for the new Platinum Barclaycard mainly for TB purposes. I received it yesterday and to my utter dismay they have given me a credit limit of only £250. I can't see the point of using it all at now. It doesn't seem the worth the damage caused to my credit score by this new card.

Can I do anything about it by contacting Barclaycard.

I possess 3 other credit cards with limits of £5-7k on each and I haven't applied for any other credit in well over a year.

Can anyone please offer any advice?

Barclaycard has a reputation for giving poor credit limits so what you have said is no surprise to me. You can try contacting them but I think all you will hear is "in 6 months time we will be able to look again at your credit limit".

My personal opinion would be to tell them where to stick their card and to apply elsewhere - additionally I don't think there is much you can do about the check on your credit file.
