LIVE THE LOTUS LIFE ON RADIO BROADLAND
JUNE TO SEPTEMBER 2008
RULES
The following rules (“Rules”) together with GCap Media plc's ("GCap Media") general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at [insert station website link]) apply to Live The Lotus Life on Radio Broadland radio competition ("the Competition") which will run from Sunday 22 June to Sunday 14 September 2008. The "Participating Radio Station" is Radio Broadland.
Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.
1. Details of the Competition
1.1 For the Duration of the Competition, listeners to the Participating Radio Station will be invited to enter the Competition via the station website. This is a free method of entry.
1.2 To enter the Competition an Entrant must use on-line entry form and answer the qualifying question correctly. Entry is open from midday on Sunday 22 June until midday on Friday 12 September 2008.
1.3 Starting Tuesday 26 August until Friday 12 September on weekdays 4 times a day, 56 eligible names will be drawn and names broadcast on-air. A further 4 eligible names will be drawn from the entries to a parallel competition run for VIP members of the station’s Behind The Mic club (of which membership is free). Each of the 60 names will be contestants who will each win a key and an invitation to attend the Lotus Open Day on Sunday 14 September. At the Open Day each contestant will try the key in the door of a Lotus Elise. The contestant holding the key that opens the car door will win the prize (see below). Contestants may expect to be put to air but this is not a condition of winning a key.
1.4 All matters relating to the selection of Entrants and all other matters relating to the Competition will be at the sole discretion of GCap Media and the Participating Radio Station.
1.5 All selected listeners will be required to confirm their eligibility prior to being announced as a contestant. They will each be contacted by telephone by the Project Manager. Those contestants unable to demonstrate their eligibility to the satisfaction of the Project Manager will be disqualified. A further draw will then take place.
2. Competition Terms and Conditions Relating to the Loan of the Lotus Car.
All contestants will be required to sign a disclaimer acknowledging they are eligible and agree to the following:
1. Definitions
In these terms and conditions unless the context otherwise requires the following expressions shall have the following meanings:
“Car” means the [insert car details] to be loaned by Lotus to the Competition Winner;
“Collection Date” means the date on which the Competition Winner collects the Car from Lotus premises at Hethel;
“Competition Winner” “Me” or “I” means the person whose name and address appears at the foot of these terms and conditions;
“Loan Period” means the period commencing on the Collection Date and ending when the Car is returned to Lotus in accordance with these terms and conditions
In consideration for Lotus releasing the Car to me and loaning it to me for the Loan Period I AGREE AS FOLLOWS:-
2. Obligations of Competition Winner
2.1 I confirm that:
2.1.1 I am over 25 years of age
2.1.2 I hold a full clean UK driver’s licence (a copy of which must be brought to the Open Day and produced prior to confirmation of the winner)
2.1.3 I am resident in the UK
2.2 I understand that during the Loan Period Lotus will insure the Car on a fully comprehensive basis for my use only with a £500 excess, in the event that an insurance claim becomes necessary in respect of the Car Lotus may, in its discretion, seek to recover the excess from me.
2.3 I understand that I must take part in Lotus Driver Experience Training Day at Lotus test track at Hethel on or before the Collection Date on a date to be agreed, such training to be provided at Lotus expense, the cost of travel to and from the training and all other expenses will be payable by me.
2.4 I agree that I shall:-
2.4.1 collect the Car from Lotus’ premises at Hethel at my expense, on a date to be agreed between myself and Lotus which must be no later that 6 months after the 14th September 2008.
2.4.2 return the Car to Lotus premises at Hethel at my expense, no later than six calendar months after the Collection Date, with a full tank of fuel and in a good and roadworthy condition.
2.4.3 Throughout the Loan Period I shall be responsible for:
(a) all fuel, lubricants, antifreeze, tyres and similar consumable items required. All replacement parts must be to the original manufacturer’s specification;
(b) maintaining the Car in a good and roadworthy condition and ensuring that all necessary servicing and warranty repairs are carried out by Lotus at Hethel, such repairs to be at Lotus’s cost;
(c) ensuring that any non warranty repairs caused by whatever reason to the Car during the Loan Period are carried by Lotus at Hethel;
(d) in the event that an insurance claim becomes necessary in respect of the Car during the Loan Period I shall reimburse Lotus for the amount of the excess (if so requested by Lotus).
2.4.4 I shall not apply any decals, stickers or other similar materials to the Car.
2.4.5 I shall not take the Car out of mainland United Kingdom without Lotus prior written authorisation, which shall be requested at least 14 days in advance.
2.4.6 I shall l not permit the Car to be used by anyone other than Me.
2.4.7 I shall not use the Car for motorsport, on a track or for hire or reward.
2.4.8 I shall park the Car off road whenever possible and practical to do so.
2.4.9 If I incur any driving or parking fines or penalties in the Car I shall notify Lotus Company Car Fleet Adviser immediately and I shall be responsible for payment of any such driving or parking fines or penalties.
2.4.10 If the Car is damaged in anyway I shall notify Lotus Company Car Fleet Advisor immediately.
6. Ownership of the Car
The Car shall remain the unencumbered property of Lotus at all times.
Competition Terms and Conditions Relating to the Further Eligibility of Contestants
3. Eligibility
2.1 It is a requirement of the competition that contestants undertake to abide by the Lotus Loan terms & conditions above and that they are able to attend the Lotus Open Day on 14th September 2008. In the event a contestant cannot attend this event they will forfeit their chance to participate in the key sequence. Contestants are not allowed to substitute another contestant themselves. If a contestant cannot take part they must contact the Project Manager at Radio Broadland (Sarah Scammell) by e-mail or phone to notify her. The radio station and Lotus reserve the right to select a replacement contestant by drawing another eligible name from all entries.
2.2 Any employees of and or contractors engaged by GCap Media, their immediate family or any other persons directly connected with the Competition are unable to enter into the Competition.
2.3 Notwithstanding that a winner has been declared, if GCap Media discovers before the delivery of a prize that for any reason under these Rules or Terms and Conditions the winner should have been ineligible to enter the Competition or the entry should have been declared invalid, GCap Media reserves the right to determine that the winner is disqualified and no prize will be awarded.
2.5 Entry is limited to one entry per e-mail address. In the event of multiple entries, only the first entry will be accepted into the random draw.
2.6 GCap Media and the Participating Radio Station shall not be responsible for any failure on behalf of an Entrant whose text message or telephone call or e-mail is not received by GCap Media or the Participating Radio Station whether due to any technical faults or otherwise.
2.7 An Entrant must participate in the Competition himself or herself. In the event that a party other than the Entrant attempts to enter the Competition on behalf of that Entrant (whether disclosed or not), that entry will be forfeited and no Prize will be delivered.
3. Prize
3.1 All decisions of the GCap Media and Participating Radio Station’s representatives will be final and binding on the Entrants and no correspondence will be entered into regarding any decision made.
3.2 The prize is a 6 month loan of a Lotus Elise similar to that pictured on the radio station website and publicity cards, according to the loan terms & conditions above. The winner will also receive a cheque for £1000.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

going off topic on this one... but depending on your budget - you can pick up good condition mk1 elises for £6-7k.
insurance from the specialists can be very low (i've been quoted about £300 for 10k for use commuting, social and pleasure, as a 25 year old with a couple of years NCB, keeping the car on the road) and mpg, on a sensible drive is in the high 40s!
they are actually very cheap motoring, for what you get.
