I really don't understand itunes. I consolidated my music library and now all my music seems to have disappeared, even the things I actually purchased from the itunes store. Itunes is completely empty, although the itunes folder seems to still be sitting in the 'music' part of my hard drive.
My ipod has lots of music on it still but I'm scared to plug it in now in case it also disappears. I assume the music is still on my computer somewhere, so is there a way of telling itunes to look at my 'music' drive where the 'itunes' folder is sitting and to tell it to play my music from there. Or, will plugging my ipod in cause all the music on it to be transferred to my computer...? Please help...!

Plugging your ipod in will not transfer the music back to your computer.
Is your music held in an external drive which you have not switched on?
Why not do a search on the title of one of your tracks and find the folder that way. Once you have found it import it into iTunes again.0 -

But aren't my tracks consoliated in my itunes library...? Which means that they're in there, which means that wherever else they're stored (CDs) shouldn't need to be plugged in... .
Is there any way of rescuing the music from my ipod if that's not the case...?0 -
I don't know how to get the music from the ipod to the PC but I seem to remember another thread about this in the last week or so.
Maybe someone can point you in the right direction or you can just trawl through them until you find it.
