I did that Nomad.
I am just in a right pickle am overdrawn by £15 with rent of £525 going out tomorrow - my overdraft is £500.
Having nothing left to sell, can't afford to eat either. Have a fiver in my purse and that's it, I darent spend it. Its been a very bad month and am starting to feel stupid at even daring to think that I could set up my own business. Am going away for a while to lick my wounds and see if I can get out of this mess.0 -

Well as soon as I can find my Nationwide ISA book, I am going to have to take some money out (not that there's much in there as I cannot save at the mo). The money will have to go into the bank to try and cover the shortfall. I hate being overdrawn. 3 bills tipped me over the edge last month - my Medic Alert membership, my National Trust membership (I use it for free parking and free days out) and one meal out with a mate but we did get a fiver off.
My last fiver will be used to buy some milk and some bread. I have store cupboard foods and if things get tight then I can always live on jam sandwiches.0 -
Evening Babbit
Just a tad fed up, I have lots to do and no ready cash to do it with plus I am get tired of MSE:rolleyes: Well, I have managed 4 NSDs this week more by necessity than anything else.
Oh and I had to deal with a persistent salesman this morning - who did not understand the words, No, skint, no money nada..he even offered me interest free payments:mad: I already have debt and don't want more debt.
Sorry for whinging.
Hope things are ok with you Babbit

I always find advertising salesmen are funny now that I've had practice saying no...I try and get them off script as soon as possible...most of the time though I time myself on how quick I can get them to sling their hook. some have been nasty pieces of work that you have to watch...most just see you as a target as soon as you come onto the scene as a small business. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
As I understand the discussion, it is about the best way to direct newbies to the SOA Calculator. There is not an issue in users posting links directly to it. There is an issue for me, personally, doing it because I am its author and it resides on a website that I run, so MSE posting guidelines prohibits me from posting links. Anyone else can post links. The question then is - is it best to put it in a Sticky (it is actually mentioned in a couple - but doesn't have one of its own) or is it best to have users post the link in reply to a newbie's question. Are people saying now that we shouldn't provide newbies with links to the SOA calculator
When I was a newbie I admit that I never even bothered looking at the stickies - so if I could miss them then so could a lot of others
To be honest, I don't think it really matters.
On a separate note, if anyone would like any additions, improvements or even another calculator, I am always happy to receive suggestions. Probably best to PM if you as I don't generally follow the board.

Well today is a slightly better day, rather than burying my head in the sand I identified that I had a problem and called my bank they have temporarily increased my overdraft to £600 for 2 months and have reduced the amount of credit on my credit card down from £7000 to £2000:j
First Direct are fab - and they are struggling to find staff so I may just apply and commute because I could work part time for them and part time for me:j
I now have a bit of breathing space until I can free up some money:j
