How quick to Fix? (British Gas)

I'm in the "no mans land" part of a switch from Npower to British Gas for both my gas and electricity. I have read Martins advice about getting a price fix or cap, but wondered if this option is available whilst in limbo?

Has anyone else done this whilst in the transfer process?

    Hi

The way E.ON do it is that if mid transfer you want to switch to a different tariff a note is left on the account saying what tariff has been agreed to. When the account is live the tariff change is done and backdated to the supply start date. If that product is no longer sold it is still honoured as it was agreed at the time.

I would presume bg do a similar thing.
