Switching from British Gas to their dual tariff
Options
We've never switched so get our gas from British Gas (elec from Powergen/EON) standard quarterly billed tariff.
Just used the Energyhelpline site which shows a big 18% saving if switching to British Gas "Click Energy 5" tariff.
A couple of questions:
As we are already with British Gas for gas, will we still be able to get the £30 cash incentive by switching dual fuel to the British Gas "Click Energy 5" tariff?
Also, "Click Energy 5" is descibed as "paperless" so I guess you get no paper bills in the post. But if in the future I need to apply for a new bank account or similar, they usually ask for a recent utility bill to prove your residency - I'm a bit concerned that going "paperless" will make it impossible for me to prove my residency.
Has anyone figured a workaround for proving residency without having official printed utility bills?

Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
