UK Savings accounts for ex-pats

I've been working abroad now for a number of years and would like to see my hard earned savings grow with a higher interest rate. Although my salary is paid into a UK bank their interest rates are not that great. I wanted to switch and open a few of the accounts which Martin has recomended but unfortunatly on all of the best deals you have to be permanently based in the UK.
