I have an old VeloSolex cyclemotor which is an unusual bicycle with a motor on the front wheel. It is a 1969 model.

I cannpt see any reason it will fail an MoT but will it need a number plate light at rear? It was not made with one.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I don't think it needs a number plate light if it wasn't original fitment and it was built before that regulation came in. I know plenty of old bikes that are MOT'd without issue and the lack of a number plate light is the least of their worries.

Section 1 of the Motorcycle MOT tester's manual makes no mention of numberplate lights
It is reproduced online here - http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual/mc_contents.htm
