Where to buy printer?

I'm thinking of buying a Canon iP2000 printer. I've found it cheapest at Dixon's & Curry's, but am reluctant to buy stuff from them given they both have poor customer service and I don't want to be stuck with an unusable printer. It's going to be a christmas present too, so I wasn't intending to test it until the new year.

Please advise on best places to buy printers. Price and service, obviously!

In my experience as a customer, the service and support from dixons/currys/pc world etc is very much dependant on the store you go to.

Sometimes you might find that noone knows anything, and it can be frustrating, but occasionally, people do know what they are talking about and the tech guys are ok.

If you are not going to be opening the printer for a while, there will be no way of knowing for certain that it works ok (it should do!) unless you take it out and use it. That applies for anything electrical really.

Also, the IP2000 is now an end of line printer, which has been replaced by the IP2200. Chances are, most places will be getting rid of 2000's to make room for the new ones. Maybe a chance for a bargain? ;)
It was like that when I got here...
