The Times Subscription rip off

In February I received a phone call asking me to sign up for The Times newspaper for 6 month for £36 and I could choose £20 voucher for wine or for WH Smith for books. I chose books but have not yet received the vouchers although the subscription has run out. I have phoned 3 times and today was told that they had already sent them so I would have to send a letter notifying them of the non delivery. I suggested that they were calling me a liar by not accepting they had failed to send the vouchers. Do you think this is a con has anyone else had problems with The Times not keeping their side of the bargain. They were happy to take my money. Do I have a claim as I paid by credit card? Any advice to a Guardian reader who dabbled with The Times.

I would be very surprised if it was a con. I think you should send the letter as they requested and wait to see what happens then.

Thats what you get for being a Guardian reader.
As trow says .. send the letter off to them. It is very likely they have sent something out but it could ave gone to the wrong address or could just have got lost. I don't think they are calling you a liar ... you have to accept that anybody could phone up and say they did not receive the vouchers in an attempt to get some more. I think they are just trying to get you to admit, in writing, that yuo have not received them.

I took part in this promotion and got the wine vouchers very quickly. No problems at all. I'm sure its not a con. Just contact them and sort it out!
