uPVC Door retaining hooks and fitting?

I've just had a new back door and french doors fitted in uPVC - I'd like to be able to stop them swinging around in the breeze by putting a hook on the exterior walls.
What's the neatest and most reliable way to fit these to the uPVC? Not sure I'd like to be drilling into my nice shiny doors just yet!

As an alternative you could fit restrictors to the doors, they usually fit in the euro groove and can be adjusted to stop doors opening to wide and also stops them flying open when someone opens a door in another part of the house. Something along these lines

excellent, thank you for that link - especially as I'd need excessively long cabin hooks to reach the french doors from the wall now I've measured the angle.IT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer0

No problem, just a thought though, if the doors are still under warranty, it might be best getting the company that you buoght them from to fit them to save invalidating the warranty0

Not wishing to recall an old thread, but I suspect people will be searching for this type of thing again with the weather we are currently enjoying. I certainly have been, thats how I found this thread!
Anyway, the link above for a door restrictor points to one that retails for £13.73 including delivery.
This one http://shop.windowrepairshop.co.uk/epages/es115683.sf/secHUccW8eUA8o/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es115683_shop/Products/%22Door%20Restrictor%20(Maco%20Tech%20100)%22 is for the same product but retailing at £10.63 including delivery.
I have ordered one, will update this thread with comments on delivery time etc when it arrives.0 -
Ordered Sunday, arrived Tuesday, perfect fit and works brilliantly.0

I have a upvc door that opens outwards.
Is there a device/method for a 180degree opening.
thanks0 -
Thanks - we found this thread very useful - and found a cheaper place for the door restrictor, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110396505794 - got three of them delivered for £20.90.
Fitted the two to the french doors - was very easy (apart from help from small children) and got a good 110 degrees of opening with no problem.
Will fit the third to the front door.0 -
that is very helpful I am going to my local UPVC wholesaler to see if he has any of thos restrictors. Ideal for my Patio doors. :T0

A friend of mine used this company....HardwareOutlet.co.uk. They said they got one delivered next working day for £10.15, it was very easy to fit, and perfect for stopping their door from slamming.0
