Diggerland Kent

Hi people
I am thinking of taking my teenage boys to this park in half term and was just wondering whether any of you have visited Diggerland in Kent. It looks ok from their website https://www.diggerland.com but just wanted to make sure that it is not aimed at younger children.
Thanks

  • I think diggerland is great for any age, you can drive fullsize JCBs, dumper trucks and dig giant holes with stationary diggers. It's only about £2.50 to get in and then you pay for all rides it's £18 for a waistband which is the best value. The best point of diggerland is mums can sit and read the paper while the kids tear round going on the diggers, the parks are not huge but my kids are happy going on things over and over again. It's very muddy so jeans and wellies are essential.
  • Thanks to both of your posts and it looks like I need to dig out my wellies and take some shopping shoes too

My kids love Diggerland, but don't be fooled by the £2.50 entrance charge into thinking it is a cheap day out - it is far from it as you need to buy credits (cheaper the more you buy) to use on the rides - or writstbands mentioned above at £18 each. The best rides use 3 credits per person. With three young boys, we found it very expensive as we had to go on some of the rides with them - and therefore used credits ourselves as well. Even though it is great fun, we had a much cheaper day out last weekend at Chessington as kids get in free with adults - and you can let them go on every single ride - time and queues permitting of course.

See all prices here for Diggerland and go fully informed:

  • My other half (44 yrs going on 12) has expressed a long-held desire to drive a big dumper truck. The dumper trucks on the Diggerland website look quite small.
Do they also do the biggies that you see on building sites, as it appears size is everything in this situation!

If not, anyone got any suggestions where I could get this sort of experience for her (yes, her!)

I saw this on Holiday at Home on BBC1 a couple of weeks ago. They took the kids there and it looked great. They were full-sized diggers and it said kids from the age of 5 could go on them. The whole family enjoyed it.

they do a 'digger experience' separate from the park which is one on one instruction in using, guess what, diggers! it's dearish at £120 for 2 hours, but it's not often you get to drive these things, so sounds ok. I got one for my dad's birthday.
if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.
  • diggerland now has a completely new pricing structure.

I'm off there (the one in Devon) next week - I'll let you know how I get on.

  • Has anyone been to the Kent park recently? A group of us are thinking of going over the Easter weekend. There will be 10 adults(male and female) and 2 children ages 2 and 5. Is there enough to do for the adults?

Any comments would be much appreciated.

I am looking at going to in the easter hols. If anyone is from Kent/medway area, have a look in the Primary Times this month (they give it out free at primary schools), as they have 3 for the price of 2 voucher. Which is a bargain as it is now pretty pricey.
