Thanks for that, brilliant timing as I have just been to the dentist and he tried to flog me one for £80 saying my teeth would benefit from Sonicare cleaning.

Could I ask if the handle vibrates a lot as you hold it as I really dont like vibration?

apparently the Braun version is the one thats won all the dental reviews.

I was lucky enough to get the Braun sonic one from Boots online (after seeing the offer on here) and it should have been £100 but reduced to £80. You purchased it for £80 but put various codes in and ended up getting almost £55 worth of points so therefore costing you £25 for the brush. I had wanted one of these for a long while but just wouldnt pay that sort of money. I had been using the normal Braun electric brush until now. All i an say is, get one. They are brilliant. There is a thread on here somewhere where people were discussing them and which they preferred, electric or sonic and so on. When i first used it my thoughts were 'oh my god im not going to be able to use this, its going to have to go back' (you get a 30 day money back guarantee), that was just my first time of using it though and since has been ok. The reason for that reaction was because it was very ticklish. Its stange at first because you really dont feel like its doing anything but once you rinse your mouth and feel its like you have been to the dentist and had a scale and polish. Thats how it feels for me each time i use it anyway.
  • Without sounding like a sales rep for Sonicare, I love the toothbrush, I 've had it since last Christmas, I have no fillings, no work done on my teeth( have been very fortunate considering I love my sweet things). Everytime I brush my teeth it feels like I've just come back from getting my teeth polished at a Dentist. It's something to do with the sound and vibration, whatever it is it works for me
  • I have had both brushes over the years and can definately say that the sonicare would win hands down if I had to buy a new brush.
I have had far fewer dental problems using the brush and it is very eay to use and doesnt need recharging very often.

I bought a sonicare from sonicaredirect just over a fortnight ago.
It was proper tickley for the first 12 brushes, as it gets you used to the sensation and builds up the intensity.
I can honestly say, hand on heart, it is less irritating than my old interdental leccy toothbrush. I also don't end up showered in toothpaste and drool as I did with my old one. it doesn't make my gums bleed either which was a problem I had with my old one.

I have really bad problems with my gums and have been visiting the hygenist every other week for intensive treatment for the last few weeks. She has told me that the sonic toothbrush has improved the look of my gums no end, that the tissue is less 'spongey' and the overall condition of my gums looks to have improved since she saw me 5 weeks before :)

I am one well happy bunny and think that it might just have been the best £40 I have ever spent if it is going to reduce the amount of time and money I have to spend at the dentists.

    Hi Fleur

Can I ask which one you bought - there are so many different ones, its hard to choose.

    Thanks

    Sure!
on the sonicaredirect website it is HX4572/65, the Advanced at 39.99.
Fraom what I can tell, the main difference between the advanced and elite is that the elite has 2 power settings and has a longer, more slender neck to the brush.

I am more than happy with the version I chose. It looks like it would be bulky, but I find it to by just fine having in the past struggled to find toothbrushes small enough to fit into my mouth, the small head (you get 1 x small and 1 x large with the version I bought) is perfect.

Delivery seems to be £4.50 now, and I can't see anything about a possible free radio. Good prices, though, and am very tempted!

Edit: Going through the checkout pages, it states that delivery to UK addresses is free. However, it still adds £4.50!

Has anyone got a Dental Practice Special Offer Code, apparently known as an SRC? If these are freely available through dental surgeries, I would imagine that it's OK to post them here. No doubt mods will intervene, if necessary.
