Norwich Union Direct Renewals

Hi,

Now I am sure this is wasted on you money saving people but just in case.

Got my car insurance renewal from N.U.D. on Saturday, £580 for a 5 year old Skoda Octavia. Now bearing in mind I had just insured my partners £19K brand new Toyota MR2 with No NCD for £800, I thought it was a bit expensive.

On to Confused.com to get a better deal only to find the cheapest quote at £370 was with....... Norwich Union Direct!!! Bit mad by now. :mad: So checked a few more and ended up with Privilige at £375 but monthly payments with 0%APR.

Rang up N.U.D. to cancel and bloke asked why, so told him not competiive and gave details. He told me they couldn't match that. He got a bit defensive when I told him they could if I was a new customer!!! :rolleyes: He told me to cancel and then rejoin but I told him to forget it.

So always rember never to just renew your policy!!! :T

I did the same thing. I cancelled and renewed as they were the cheapest. Stupid way of doing business!

They all seem to be at it. I've had to cancel and go back as a new customer with Hastings Direct 3 years on the trot! No doubt I'll have to do the same again next year with Churchill.

I had the same thing with NU. I did phone up CS and they did take the price down to the new internet quote.
