HSBC application

On 25t April I applied for an HSBC credit card. I was rejected and I didnt appeal. However, on checking my credit report this month I see that HSBC made 2 credit card searches on 25th April and again 1 on 28th April making 3 searches. They wrote to me and said sorry they couldnt oblige but my credit score didnt meet their criteria at this time and stressed that there was nothing in my credit report that had an adverse effect on my application. Just that my score was not high enough. After 3 damn searches of course it took a knock. Can i get anything done about this ?

If they're all "search type: credit card application", ie the second two are not unrecorded ID enquiries, then make an official complaint asking them to remove the additional searches.
