Lloyds TSB Credit Cards - what DCA?

I fear my credit card debt with Lloyds TSB may soon be passed to a DCA as I'm nearing the end of a six month reduced payment plan - in the letter confirming the payment plan it says it's a "one time offer"

I have two questions if thats okay:

1. Will they consider extending the payment plan do you think? (I've never missed a payment).

2. If they pass onto a DCA which one do they use?

This is my largest single debt at 9K so I'm worried they may push for bankruptcy or a charging order on my house.

All my other creditors are happy to accept my payment plan but I'm concerned Lloyds may take a tougher stand as it's for a large amount.

Any advice with Lloyds would be really appreciated as this is really starting to worry me :-(

    HI

I have been on a temporary plan with Lloyds for two years now. All you need to do when they tell you its over is res send them another letter offering what you can.

I routinely sent one recently to Lloyds and my payments were doubling and they turned it down, but I ignored the letter and the interest is still stopped and on the statements it still wants the old smaller amount. Its been two months now and not heard a thing from them.

    many thanks for this rayday2!!

Do you think the "one time offer" they mentioned in their letter is just to stop me asking for a longer breathing space then?

Is it normal for a credit card company to extend the length of a payment plan?

Could I be cheeky and ask the amount your credit card debt was for - as it may make a difference because mine is such a large amount?

    Thanks!

I think if they agreed to it for this stretch then really it would be hard for them not to agree again, its always in there interest to keep pushing you for full payment but does not mean if you stick your ground that they won't again.

Its not so much its normal as its usual after someone has had problems that they won't be solved in the time period especially with rising costs so you are not asking anything unusual if that makes sense.

My hubby owes nearly £8k and paid £11 a month and now £27, I owe about £3k and paid £5 now about £10 if that is any indication.

they would rather get the money off you in small payments than petition for bankrupty risking the fact that they would end up getting nowt keep paying mate they are hardly likely to turn down a payment

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Is it safe to say then that credit card companies and DCA's would rather keep you on a payment plan than force Court action on you?

Is a DCA more likely to take you to Court once the debt has been passed to them?

Has anyone here been taken to Court even though they were willing to go on a payment plan?

My debt with barclays had the same terms - I think it's a standard clause so they're not stuck with the same amount if things change. Just send them your budget, and ask them to confirm the payment plan will continue.

Besides, I'm under the impression that they
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
