Tesco policies...

Options
Perhaps some kind soul could explain to a numpty what Tesco policy is re the following. While on a shopping trip to my local store i bought an item without noticing it should have been eaten yesterday. My DW, bless her, spotted that the item was about to explode and sent me packing back to Tesco with it.CS employee took one look and made the same comment my wife had made 20 minutes earlier, apologetic and asked if i wanted a refund or a replacement item (i took the replacement as i would have had to purchase something else anyway). After getting home and reading some threads on here I'm unclear if Tesco should have refunded me and then given a replacement - not to mention the wasted fuel in returning said item.

Did they comply with the relevant policy or not???

Tia.

  • I think refund and replace was taken off a while ago. They only replace now.

Exchange or refund should have been offered.

I asked nicely at CS when returning some gone off mince, they gave me a refund plus the same amount on a gift card. they dont do r&r anymore as standard but they do have some discretion to offer you a little something in recompense.
