Retaining Wall

Hi there
I have a un even back garden and would like to level out.
My plan is to lay a retaining wall and then level the soil out up to this structure.
Can you guys recommend the most cost effective wall type or would it be cheaper to use reinforced soil?

regards

when we did this we priced up the cost of retaining walls as we intended to tier the garden, got a bit of a shock with the quotes!! In the end the most cost effective way was to use railway sleepers which are sturdy and look good with plants trailing over them.
  • i have just had this done with breeze blocks, we used a local builder our wall is 11 meters wide and just under 1 meter high and it cost us £530 all in he was great. we priced up railway sleepers and worked out we needed aprox30 sleepers and was going cost us over £600 and we had to do all the work. it is worth it to get some quotes off local builders.
