I'm done for the day. Curtains re-hung (unironed), I had to clean the windows inside so then I did all the outside windows too.. Just my bed to remake. Pleased with all I've achieved today and hope I've got some beans left for tomorrow.
Off to conduct a scientific expiry-time trial now.. seeing if last weeks veggie bolognaise is still ok to eat. (I'm too ashamed to say which day last week).
    Catch you all tomorrow.

I think I've done more at my neighbour's house than I have at mine today as I'm looking after her dog for a week. I've brought in some washing off the line, emptied her WM into the TD and seen to her dog.

At home I've made the tea, a bit of ironing and erm that's probably about it so I'd better make a start now!

    Evening all.

I've been flying since I got in and have managed to achieve this (my dining room is my kitchen):

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Clean floors,[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front[/STRIKE]Did this Sunday when I put the shopping away
[STRIKE]Wipe dining table.. and check the underside.. (clean table cloth if necessary)[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc [/STRIKE]
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances
Clean oven if you didn't do it last week
    Extras

[STRIKE]Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
    [/STRIKE]
    1. Photograph 25 items for ebay.. :D.. and list 5 today!
    2. Put WM's/DW's on a 'clean' cycle.. make sure those doorseals and filters are clear.. soda crystals and white vinegar get rid of unpleasant smells and germs.. I usually put a cap full of bleach in mine too.
    3. 30 minutes ironing!!!
So I don't feel I've done too badly. I've also put the throws from the settee and armchair in the washing machine - the forecast is good for tomorrow so they will be dry by tomorrow night.

also took a pic of the newly covered settee and found some before ones so I'll put them up in my next post.

Stir fry for dinner from the remains of yesterday's roast chicken will be done soon. Then I'm going to chill a bit and make sure I don't stay up too late. Chap at work I know hurt his wrist last Friday lunchtime playing football and wasn't sure if it was broken or not. He lives about 10 miles away from me, almost on my way to work, so I said if it was broken then let me know and I would be his chauffeur. Well, he popped into the office this morning (after getting his Dad out to drive him in) plastered and slinged up so I am now his chauffeur for the next few weeks.

I don't mind in the slightest - but it does mean I have to be regimented with my leaving times in the morning now. Where normally I'd leave any time between 7am and 7.30am, I've got to give him an eta of when I'll get to his to pick him up out of fairness so I've said I'll leave at 7am. But, I guess it's time I really did hone up my morning routine.

Right, off to find those pix...

Right, the before, during and after of the little settee

Before: this is before I bought the throw - it was a real disgrace!

    setteebefpug.jpg

This is when I hid the disgrace with a throw (and the dog!)

This is it newly covered and cushioned

washing all now finished, loads one and two dry, put away and ironed. load three on line, should be dry by mid morning if weather stays good.

lots of ironing done. dinner cooked, eaten and dishes washed up. rubbish and recycling out, kitchen floor swept and front room hoovered. generally tidy everywhere.

need to put said dishes away in a mo, but thats me done for today.:)

    Hiya everyone!
The weekend went by without any dramas, other than those that come attached to teenagers.
Done really well today but then on Mondays I seem to, it's the rest of the week that worries me, and the rest of the house.
It seems I do better if I don't sit and read the thread all day! But I do find other peoples lives so much more interesting than cleaning

tia, I'm sat here grinning, what a little star your DS is, a very big well done from me :D I am hoping OT will help us get DS1 to use some form of cutlery (even a spoon properly would help! I've tried everything)
Johanne, you'll have loads of those days as she gets older, kids are just made to bump themselves, hope she's ok now.
Jill pleased to hear you had a great day :)
Solwaykid well done! I'm wondering where the promised rain is, I might have to water DS2s plants today because it hasn't rained at all
Pigpen can you not send them all to live elsewhere for the night?
luby-lou the permenant lumps are where they chopped the horns off :rotfl:
soappie looks great! What a difference.
ifits, what a transformation, if the decor wasn't the same I'd have said it was someone elses house! Well done!

JustaMum we found fleas here aswell, I used something called 'RIP Fleas' which I bought online after the powder didn't work.

For those with connection issues, type your reply into wordpad then copy and paste into the reply box is usually the best way. I usually do it but you can guarantee when I don't is when it gets 'lost'.

Meeting went very well, they're always good for networking too :D meeting heads of services in the county means I know which heads to aim rocks for when I need to :rotfl: Anyway more meetings planned, DP threw a huff because I was later back than I said (as usual, he can't cope with any changes, he's more complex than the boys!) dashed out for DS2, made dinner, he's gone to work now so been entertaining the boys and slobbing really.

Just took DSs up to bed, DS2s being a right pain in the **** so will be likely battling with him for a few hours yet, need to work more on the assignment as I did want to get in touch with a few organisations tomorrow but I am doubtful I will have the time if I don't get much work done on my assignment tonight.
One day I might be more organised...........
