You need to roll back to the previous version. Go into Add & Remove Programs on control panel, and remove media player. It will roll back to version 10, and hopefully solve the problem.
It's best to create a system restore point before you do this just in case it gets worse, but that is unlikely.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -

Just goes to show that you shouldn't believe all that you read....
On your keyboard, press the Flying Windows key together with Pause Break. This will indicate how much RAM you have installed in your machine.
If it is 256MB or less, give yourself a rap on the knuckles and purchase some more, here.
If your budget does not stretch that far, try here or here.0 -
Hi- I have 1.46gb of ram so no slap needed there, and I think I am already using those drivers. Would they have been updated? this machine is nearly 3yrs old. If they have, which would I need
.
Slap? I mentioned only a rap.
Lots about this online, try a few options: http://www.techsupportforum.com/microsoft-support/windows-xp-support/157757-windows-media-player-freezing-computer.html0 -
