Hi needahol....when I drag my own images into the 'box' they just fill the whole page - am i doing it wrong? I'm using firefox.....

Hi

It's not your own images you need to submit, you just type something into the search box and drag an image from the result of your seach, adding why you think it's iconic.

Yeah, the obvious ones have been used so try less obvious things even if they're not that iconic.
