I've found a computer disk buried in an old box in the shed. Out of curiosity i thought id see what was on it. I was amazed when i opened the zip folders on the disk and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Font's pored out of the zip file.
I have no idea where the disk came from or how it got to be buried in the shed.
I've checked out the price of just a few of the font's and its running into may hundreds of pounds so far.
I reckon there has to be 4 to 5 thousand of theses fonts and I've only checked out about 30 of them.
Anyone know if it's legal to use them for myself in such circumstances?
Thanks.
Kev.

Unlikely that you can and I'd also be wary of using any software that you happen to find on random disks.0

If you were to only use them on your home PC for your own needs, then to be honest I don't see why there should be a problem. It's not as if you have to pay anyone a fee to be able to use them each time. I would just install them and use them as I needed them.
You found a disc in your shed. The disc must belong to someone in your family I'm assuming at one time or another. That person has already paid for said disc for anyone in the family to be able to use;)0 -
I checked with my son to see if he new anything about them, and he's at a blank too.
I've installed about 600 of them so far and having a look at them with a font viewer. They are seriously good fonts, quite a few are in the hundreds to purchase individually.
More research is needed to track where they came from.
Thanks for the advice.

Unless the disc contained illegally obtained material, but ultimately celticfc is right - I wouldn't use them for work or any other commercial purposes though in case someone comes after you for copyright!I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0

Installing too many fonts will affect the speed of your pc. So how many fonts do you really need? I think I have a copy of a cd with ten thousand on it, but I doubt if I will ever look at it.0
