child modelling

not sure if this is the correct place to put this but here goes.
A friend recently asked if i had ever thought about getting my 2 girls (aged 11) into modelling, it got me thinking that they are at a funny age for finding things for them to do and that this might be a fun new pasttime - does anyone know of a reputable agency? thanks in advance.

Elisabeth Smith is a good agency where you get proper work.. Down side it is expensive to join and yo have to pay yourself to get photo professionaly taken for their books & website. You can find their website and see how the other children look like.http://www.elisabethsmith.co.uk/

This is the company I looked into when considering it for my daughter:

They don't charge for joining or photos. You can also apply online if you want.

They also have a section which gives you losts of details about what is involved and what the requirements would be, which I found informative.

I looked into this for my daughter who has just turned 1. Everyone was always telling me how beautiful she was and cheeky aswell. We got there, they said we were in then wanted £50 joining fee amongst other payments we said no to paying and they turned around and basically said well she is ugly anyway! :( ... got back and did a search on the net and they had been splashed all over watchdog and the news about conning people so if you are going ahead make sure you do your research!

I did modelling from the age of 12-16years of age, I loved it and had great fun. You should never have to part with money for any agency!!!

If they see you have potential and could earn them money then they will willingly put you on their books for no charge whatsoever. Make sure it is a reputable company though.

I had modelling lessons which really helped, I learnt catwalk (which isn't as easy as it looks), posture, poses for photos etc.
  • Hi

You should NEVER EVER have to pay for your child to sign up with an agency. There is a website that i went through with my daughter called Alba (if you google alba model information you should get through!) Then there is a page with lots of agencies around the country (who especially work with children). I went with an agency in Birmingham, who work with Adams amongst others, daughter was accepted after sending pictures, and going for an interview at their offices, and no money ever changed hands, all i had to do was sign a form allowing her to do the work. Never went through with it though as we moved.
Now im debt free i want to be fat free too!

I can vouch for bizzykidz as my daughter wsa with them from the age of about 7 months and they really were great, now shes with scallywags and they are a very good company. She is two and has quite a lot of work from it and she really enjoys doing it.

    I think that's a great idea! :)

Me and my sister did a little bit of catwalk modelling for my mums friend when we were small, it was for bridesmaid dresses.. I was a tomboy though and hated it! especially getting my hair crimped! That was all the rage in the 80's! :rotfl:

Tomboy aside, it was great fun, we got a little bit of money for it, and it was a great confidence boost.. :) My sister loved it so much!
