Best Carpet Cleaner for elderly parents

Hi,
my elderly (very independent) parents are wanting to buy a domestic carpet cleaner and have asked my advice on which to buy.
Unfortunately, I don't know the first thing about them.....
Can anyone make any suggestion as to which they might buy..
Their basic requirement is something not too heavy to use, or too difficult to fill/empty etc, and something that won't leave the carpets too damp.
Any help greatfully received.

I've just bought a Vax Rapide and swear by it, it's not too heavy for me, and the dirt it takes out of the carpet - you'd be amazed.............
It was half price (and I used my Nectar card too)
