Refused for AMEX Blue card

Applied online for Amex blue card but got a letter through the post today saying i wasnt being approved for one - what factors do they take into account when deciding this?

i meet all the criteria (earn a certain wage etc) - I have 2 other credit cards (one visa one with my bank which i use for most purchases and always pay in full -- one emergency card which ive used once) - do you get penalised for paying your balance each month? i.e not creating any intest charges for the bank

also just recently moved house (6 months ago - could that be a reason?) - and keep getting letters from debt recovery people every so often for a person who has never lived at my address -- could this be a reason??

If you are not on the electoral role at your current address, that is probably the problem. It might also be worth checking your credit file to see if there are any dubious associations with anyone else who has lived at that address.
