I was scared at first LR,
now I don't pay any attention -but I tend to find that people fear what they don't know and I didnt know that most of their tactics were blowing very serious HOT AIR!

It's very windy in here tonight! ;)

Now I've listened to all you guys and had some fantastic advice (which would of cost of fortune from the legal eagle's:eek: ), I feel really confident about tackling my debts head-on, still can't talk to the DCA's but then again I'm deaf!;) so at least that one's sorted!.

Just keep up the good work guys:T
:D Opinions are like bottom holes, we all have one :D
  • You see I don't even know what the DCA is? so it probably would freak me out if they phoned.

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

It’s worth pointing out; some people are at their lowest, when stressed out.

The letter’s and phone calls are a form of intimidation and without knowledge some people fall for it, we only become experienced once we visit sites like this.

I think the whole industry needs shaking from its foundation.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
  • exactly sending letters like we COULD make you bankrupt, we COULD do this or that its all drivel ment to grind you down .
they do god knows what to get them the money they rely on the knee jerk panic of the debtor ,i remember some on here gave all there rent once becouse of a threat from a car finance firm .
The info is out there FOR people who get in debt, lets face the majority have not done it on purpose and will pay it off , there is no excuse for dca workers to act and play the silly tricks outside the law which they do.
my brother and sister are police officers im sure if they beat up a suspect [guilty or not and tarr all with the same brush] ,to get results the general public would be up in arms , i do how ever think with the credit crunch nearly in full flow a large amount of people will find they have to deal with the dca and as such dca will be watched more closely , how ever ,dca do the threats via phone so unless you can be arrssed to record the muppetts not a lot can be done and if you read the letters they are always what they may do etc, the fact 99% is what they cant do ,
As for how do they then collect outstanding debt well its easy stay with in the law etc etc , however i do think some dca workers are a bit well on the dumb side with some of the things they actually say as the police told me once come to me with proof you are being threatened/INTIMIDATED and we will deal with it , this is how i would like to say i got one of my debts written off , i also involved my mp.
so every one out there, im debt free happy and plenty of dosh now no credit, it took a few years but can be done with little stress but some inconvieniance
