New York New York - Help

Ok guys, I need some real help here.

I would like to go to New york for about 10 days at some time after 8th April 2006 (gotta be back by 22nd April).

I am looking for something special. I am thinking that I am going to propose to my girlfriend there so I need something nice and dandy.

I am not a cheapskate, but not made of money. So a lower budget option would be cool, but i appreciate the occasion so I am open to most options.

I am wondering if anyone knows any decent offers or even something that would make our time special.

BA have a flight for 378.
either into newark or JFK for the 12th to the 21st or 22nd
But how about flying into Canada then taking the train down (after seeing Niagra of course) it might work out alot cheaper even with the train fare or coach fare and it would be a really different way to arrive in NYC and you get to see 2 countries.
Canadian affair or Zoom might be a good place to start if the Canada one is a good idea ...if not ignore me ...lol
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

** Link is to a page that then promotes own travel board - that then promotes ( in own banner VIP travel) a pyramid scheme called cashcardworldwide. Removed by AbCon ** Here is were you might be able to pick up some more tips for a cheaper flight

Thats unfair Budget flyers site is nothing to do with CCW its a very usefull site on how to pick up the best bargains
If anyone wants budget flyers site just type Budgetflyer into google hes done a fantastic job

  • new york is NOT cheap and 10 days will stretch the tightest of budgets. Some tourist hotels can be endured for 4-4 days but for 10 days they may be a bit too basic and small for comfort. There are many places around new york that you can get to for days and walking around new york costs nothing and is great in itself. There is Philidelphia, altantic city, Long island "beaches" etc, but look into it if you are considering it as a main event hoiday as after 4 days in new york it can be pretty exhausting, in a nice way.
The best work is the cheapest as the quality remains long after the price is forgotten

If you get offered a good price at a hotel called..wellington.. consider it.. it's on 7th ave/ 55th st.. fantastic location.. 5 mins walk from times sq in one direction and 5 mins to central park in the other..We paid about 100.00 per night a room but we did not look around... also we went for 3 nights and as i do not really do shopping we did everythng in that time I think 5 nights would kill it..

    Where to ask the question????

The view restaurant in times sq... new yorks only revolving restaurant. fantastic views.. they have a web site.. book a table by the window in advance or....
central park... you can get a horse and carriage ride for about $45.... go on one.. ask it to take you to the boat house restaurant which is in the park on the east side.... on the ride get down one one knee and say the words... try and make it a sunday the brunch menu at the boathouse is fantastic.

Hope I have given you some new ideas.

try that link for a lot of new york info and www.topoftherock.com is the website for the Rockefeller Centre which is opening for the first time on 1st November (not quite as high as the Empire State Building) but has an observation deck with panaoramic views.

    Hi
Stayed in the Holiday Inn last year, it is very near Broadway, can not exactly remember how much it was but it was reasonable, booked it all on the internet. Just searched Holiday Inn NY and then phoned them for confirmation and also got confirmation e mail.
