virgin trains london to manchester piccadilly

i genuinely cant find anything in the next 3 months for less than £68.20 single!!! im thinking of going to uiniversity in manchester and am thinking ahead with regards to cost of travel. they advertsie from £12.50, yet there is nothing at all available at anywhere near that price unless im missing something amazing!! for 12 weeks time, not a penny lss than £68.20!! why is this??

    what dates are you looking at? i can only assume that you're booking 'too' far ahead and the cheap tickets haven't been released.

    they currently have a full shed-load of offers if you click on the eticketing link on the front webpage. you can get tickets for £1 if you're lucky.

    do you have a student rail card?

    My Daughter has spent the last year at Manchester uni ( she's had a great time) Normally caught the train from Watford ( but its the Euston to Piccadilly)She ( rather me:rolleyes: ) never paid more than £12.50 often less.
    But it meant some late trains, got used to waiting at Watford station at Midnight. Never worried as there was always a number of girls with her.

    Just checked prices , £13 Manchester to watford..( for next Friday).. yes I know you Euston but gives you the idea.

    MUST remember to book the full eleven and half weeks:D for the end / beginning of term , the train is full of Students .

    Do you have to change trains at any point? if so, it might be cheaper to buy two separate singles, which should work out cheaper.

    cheers, thats a fantastic help. didnt realise they always have those tickets, thought it was just occasionally!! yeah got studnet railcard, but thats brilliant
