Epson R285 Blocked print head??? HELP. Return to the store?

Options
I have an Epson R285 printer which I purchased from PC World about 6 months or so ago. I can't find the receipt to be able to take it back.

It has a blocked print head. I have got some print head flush and using a syringe with a piece of rubber tubing I have flushed the print head but when I try and print again it still has colors missing. I am using a CISS system which when I first used it was excellent. I still have the original cartridges which I've tried and the head's are blocked on some colors.

I have thought about taking it back to the shop but as I say I can't find the reciept. I ordered over the internet and then collected it from the shop. I don't have the copies of the confirmation email. I don't remember if I paid cash or used my debit card. Would they have any record of the sale? I wondered if the serial number of the printer would be a way of tracing it.

I'm at a loss as what to do about the print head blockage so I'm happy to listen to any suggestions, that includes wether anyone thinks PC world may replace it.

sounds more like paper fibres stuck to the bottom of the head carriage, soak a piece of cloth that will not shed fibres in your solvents and stick it over the platten and under the carriage then "Towel" clean the bottom of the heads repeat several times.
What did you use to flush the heads btw?

if you know what date, PCW can search on their systems... they normally take name and address for things like printers, so will easily be able to trace it !

I too have had major problems with ink marks on my printing. Followed this advice using a ribbon of microfibre cloth laid over the print platten, soaked it with ink flush solvent using a syring and "towelled" the bottom of the ink container - normally not accessible!
After a good few cleans and tests, the printer is working fine now. A good housekeeping note has been made to clean it on a regular basis!

    Hoorah!

If you get the date of purchase information from PC World, you can ask Epson to replace it, usually they charge £10 towards the courier but all my exchanges have arrived with a new set of inks, which more than makes up the £10. You can use their live chat in office hours, if the person you get does not know about the courier exchange, ask for a supervisor, also check which items they want you to retain, mine are the inks, paper tray, power lead and USB lead.

Do not mention the CISS or the use of compatibles, if asked about the cartridges, say they only have Epson on it, and a sticker with the cartridge number.

Did you have to remove anything, cartridge cover, to fit the CISS? If so, you will need to replace the removed part(s) before returning it.

If the printer is used infrequently, either print the nozzle check once a week, or a document with the different colours
