Thank you!!! Having that Govt lady who wrote the circular back me up, is a real strengthener. She was very firm and said many of the Local Authorities are just not understanding what they are supposed to do. I have to admit to being doubly stressed as my boyfriend is part of 2 Para in Afghanistan!! My worry levels are through the roof to say the least

Well hopefully with this lady behind you, you can scratch one worry off the list! Something tells me from your posts that although the chips and worrys get you down, you certainly have the will within you to pick yourself up and dust yourself down, stick up for yourself & carry on chipping away. Keep it up!!

I'm a mad mixture of being an obstinate geordie and having served too many years in the army. I do get 'down' sometimes but I am one of lifes honest people who will explain how i feel and say what is wrong. ''Better out than in'' my Mum always said! How very true. This forum is a fabulous sounding board and an endless source of intelligent support and advice. Without you guys to talk to, I would have well and truly lost it. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart...x x x I will obviously keep you all informed as to how I get on with the hideous council staff etc

I didn't really stick up for myself as such....I just followed the advice given on this forum

Yes but you needed to have the strength to carry on fighting this. A lesser person would have given up weeks ago.
