Ok. I have registered with a couple of the MS sites. I have a query about Tax.
I already have a full time job through which I pay full NI and Lower rate tax.
I need to register as self employed for the MS. I dont really understand what I need to do, do I have to pay this £2.30 NI contribution since I pay full NI in my full time job?

    Sorry :o

Not sure exactly about their pay timings but you don't have to do anything; they'll pay you when they're ready :D

As from 6th April, there's no such thing as lower rate tax - it's now all at basic rate, which is 20% (after your personal allowance that is)

You don't have to pay £2.30 if you earn a small amount (which I guarantee you will in MSing!:rotfl: ) Just apply for the exception and you should get it. IMO it's not worth paying, AS LONG AS YOU PAY IT IN OTHER EARNINGS! If you stop paying class 1 (employment version) then get onto paying the £2.30 per week immediately.

Make sure you read the OP for some more help!

Thanks for that. Did read the OP but was not sure if the £4000 that was quoted was the income from MSing or my total income.
Sorry-meant basic rate tax as in not higher rate

Oh I see - it's just your MSing money as it's a different type of NI.

    HTH :D

Thanks Timmne. It's just I did the phone report back thing - got off the phone and thought what am I supposed to do now? It didn't say anything in the email either, and I can't remember if I gave them my bank details when I registered - oh well I will just have to wait and see. :D

is anyone having problems with reports for RE. To be precise, the actual dialogue boxes. If I do a spell check or try to change something, it wont click back on to the dialogue or any other question. It,s driving me crazy and taking forever to put in my report.

Happened to me this morning too - drove me mad, but I just battled through so I could submit as I didn't want to miss the deadline. I'm not sure why it is like this today, I thought maybe it had something to do with the fact I was using firefox.
