hearty congrats on baby no. 3 Princess Leia

Well done for your 10 out of 10 Hollypear. By the way your story about the dodgy off sales made me laugh....

And on the subject of not phoning the companies, Timmne, is there anyone here who was doing ms before the age of the home desktop publishing/digital cameras/ home pc revolution? It's just that it struck me the other day that the companies do much less work these days, and we do all the printing and they get practically instant access to the reports! And yet I'm told the money used to be better!!!

Yep - doesn't sound right does it?!!

We get paid less, their processing costs are less. At a guess, they're probably earning less from the companies but due to improving their processes (i.e. getting us to do the work!) I bet the margin's bigger these days.

Hi all - I did two mystery shops for GAP at the end of May (29th I think) and as far as I was aware you got paid on the 24th of the following month which would have made it 24th June. When I checked the Bank there was no payment. I've e-mailed them but surprisingly I've had no reply yet. Any suggestions/ideas?

    Thanks

GAP pay 'around the 24th' of the month, in practice this means that the money arrives in the accounts between 26th and 27th of each month.

Pda/ Blackberry seems a really good idea. I am also think ing of upgrading my printer to a printer/scanner /copier to make me more efficient, although there aren't that many times when it's needed so maybe that wouldn't make sense financially.

Does anyone know if Gfk are in the habit of upping fees when they call you to accept jobs at late notice? There's a couple it's not worth my while to accept but they're due soon so I am expecting a phone call.

Also with Bare, I remember someone else said they seem to wait ages to hear about allocations, have other people got their self-find vehicles agreed yet? Cos I'm still waiting.

I had a call from GFK on Tues and they upped their fee as they were desperate and extended the deadline for me as I was at hospital today. They were really nice as I'd said I'd seen it but as I'm new to MS didn't think I'd remember it all. They guy explained it all and said it looks harder on paper. I hope so!

So I'm doing that and will have my iPhone to make notes on - as it looks like you're sending a text but I'll be sending myself an email :p

It's both exciting and nerve wracking!

I'm new to Bare and can't quite get my head around their allocations. I had applied for a job ending today but cancelled as I knew I couldn't do it today. Just wonder if it will still be showing tomorrow or not. Wouldn't it be nice if all the systems were the same..............:rotfl:

Thanks apc4tr - I'll check my account tomorrow.

Has anyone also had an e-mail from GFK about doing a sell and rent back assignment? They offered me £125 because of the type of assignment it was. I have e-mailed back to ask whether these companies do credit checks but haven't heard anything back yet.
  • I got nothing about the sell and rent back and feel like I've missed out!

I am in the process of trying to set up an interim payrun for the train tickets.

CB Your input on here is much appreciated. Luckily your company are one of the better ones.
I did one of your bank jobs today. The scenario was simple and uncomplicated and I have just done the report which also was simple and didn't take hours..
Now if only some other companies would take a leaf out of your book.

    Cheers:beer:
