Which Animation software?

Hi,
I would like to make my own animations, but am unsure what software to buy.
Is there any techie people out there that could recommend an animation program? as i dont know which would be best. I would like one that can do lots of different effects on images/text.

try downloading Animation Shop Pro from Jasc. You get 30day free trial on it.

Yeah thats a good program used it for years along with PSP

Corel bought out jasc early this year

Cant seem to find animation shop pro now on corel web site looks like they took it out of PSP, some shareware site might still have the old versions.

Or... if you feel like splashing out... you simply can't beat Alias Maya 7 unlimited... its a bargain at £5,000....

I can't really explain to you in words exactly how powerful maya is. You need to look at some of the tutorials available on the web. If you can imagine it, you can create it in maya. Its a piece of software you will spend a lifetime learning... The maya 7 personal learning edition is free however... but leaves a watermark on the animations you make...
