Dunno, Reaper, it's a case of once bitten, twice shy.
ReI wouldn't worry about the rejection itself, it won't have had any significant impact on your rating.
Am I being a bit of a drama queen about this? ::) It's just that it's never happened to us before.'Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

As far as I know rejections are not listed by the credit reference agencies. All other companies will see is that a credit search was carried out but you did not get the card. They have no idea whether that was because you were refused or because you changed your mind.
Lots of credit searches in a short period will count against you, but a single search isn't going to make a difference. So no need to worry.0 -
Thanks yet again, Reaper. I shall try not to be too gloomy, but I await our credit report from Experian to see what dreadful sin we've committed!'Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

Weatherwax, fret ye not - it's really not a big deal! The rejection will not get listed on your credit file - the only thing that will show on there will be that a search was done on your file - that is all. Nobody will know the outcome of the search other than the institution who searched your file.
It may be that you just don't suit the customer profile the lender is after, too - sometimes you can be a perfect payer with a fantastic history but the lender doesn't want to offer you a card cos you'll pay it off every month and not earn them a penny in interest.
So if you really are that good, believe it or not the rejection might be because you're *too* good!
