Will have just 2 full days in both cities next Feb.
Tips on what not to miss doing would be ideal.

Thanks in advance.

  • 2 days in Sydney: 2 weeks and still more to see. So pick from climbing the birdge, day trip to Blue Mountains, the Rocks, Kings Cross, Darling Harbour (I was cursed it rained all 3 times I went there but breakfast in Bluebird Cafe = sitting on the loo watching Good Morning Australia!) Greatest city in the world, no space here to do it justice!to Feel free to PM me
  • don't miss your flights there. best tip of them all.

    Tips for Sydney

    Go up the skytower :)
If you find the backpacker magz. (tnt, british balls..) there is a voucher for 25% off the price. or if you can't get one of them just get the sydney guide from the airport and get 15% off

Go to the food court - Dixons (i think) on the corner of china town. Some great food and does nto cost a lot. Don't get the rip off food in outdoor places on the main chinatown street

Coogee is quieter than Bondi for a day out. Manly is pretty nice too

I lived there for a while so know a fair bit, if you want to know anything specific let me know :D

    Tips for Kuala Lumpar

A trip up Petrona Towers, onto the skybridge on the 40th floor, that joins the two towers.
A visit to the chinese night market.(Starts about 5pm) Loads of fake designer stuff, and a good laugh bartering with them.

The bridge climb is a must, and recommend booking up before you go so that you can guarantee to do it.

The Aquarium in Sydney is also amazing, better than any others I have seen, so if you have kids or fascinated by the sea life definitely go.

Go on a ferry trip somewhere, then you can get a real feel of the bridge and opera house from a distance http://www.sydneyferries.nsw.gov.au/

Personally I would recommend staying in Manly and travelling by ferry to go to the different sites. Manly is much more laid back and the beach lovely even if you only sit on it for a few minutes, or have a stroll.

There is a lovely fish restaurant (Doyles) in Watsons Bay which is great to visit by ferry alternatively go to the other ones in their chain there is one right on Sydney Harbour

    Have fun!

if youre only there 2 days dont waste time going to Kings cross - it's foul. water taxi around the bay etc. is excellent, the rocks is nice, and doyles is nice but overrated, loads of better places to go, but they do have a primo location so i suppose that makes up for a lot!
lovely place to be, i'd love to go back.
if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.
  • I totally forgot to say, if you are going to have a spare evening, there is nothing better than going to the most famous opera house. When we went we saw Mikado, hilarious, and the best place to have seen it.

Personally I wouldn't bother with Bondi at all, not worth the trip! Reminds me a little of a seaside town that is past its best, a bit like Margate!

If you fancy going outside of Sydney centre, there is a lovely area, Palm Beach (home of Home and Away) and the Barrenjoey Guest House is a lovely place to either stay (which you probably won't if you are only there for two days) or to have a nice lunch or dinner overlooking the sea.

Oh and save money on the "harbour" cruises, just take the ferry to Manly which is much nicer than Bondi which is a dump. Yes Kings Cross is a dump but great for people watching!
