just switched to o2 from aol kept all the same wireless settings for attached devices , l2 laptops worked straight away without having to mess with the settings but i cant get my wii and psp to work the guy at o2 says i've got to switch back to wep rather than wpa, i said i'd rather keep my wpa so he suggested to keep changing back and forward each time the wii was gonna be used, i dont understand the o2 router let me change to wpa and i know the wii accepts wpa but he tells me the wii will only work with wep, no it doesn't i said i've been using it for the last 18 months with wpa.. anyway i changed to wep to try it and still wont work
can anyone advise as this o2 is gonna be no good to me if i cant get on the net with the wii:mad:
the guy also sent settings via email for the wii and still doesnt work

I had some issues with the Wii not talking to the access point, plus unreliable connections from other places.
Upon initial investigation, my access point was set to a channel number of "auto". Now there are a few other APs in the area that i pick up, plus all the other stuff that uses the same radio frequencies. I seems that the AP was constantly hunting for a channel to use.
So, I set it to channel 1, and looked at the signal strength on the laptop. And worked my way up until I found the strongest signal. (Some channels it wouldn't even see the AP!) Once left fixed to that channel, not on auto, everything was much better and everything connected first time.
Might be something to test!

failing that you could get a nintendio dongel from game0

Think the tech you talked to is confused. The Nintendo DS will only do WEP. The Wii will happily do WPA.
Buying a dongle from game won't help a bit either.
Double check you've got the wii looking to connect to the correct network, using the correct encryption, and using the proper encryption key. It's easy to make a mistake typing it in via the wiimote.

eventually got connected to wii via wep (reluctantly) but when trying to change settings on laptops which are latitude 131l i can't find where to change settings to wep only options are
