Motoring Legal Protection - incl. Europe?

My car insurance is due for renewal in two weeks. I’ve been with Direct Line who have got to be the worst insurance company on this planet and I can’t wait to switch. I’ve already been to the comparison and insurer websites but can’t find a car insurance that offers motoring legal protection that includes Europe (it's for no more than 10 days per year). I don’t need breakdown cover in Europe as I always use rental cars, so it’s just about the legal protection (lawyer/court fees in the European country). Rental car companies don’t offer any legal assistance in case of an at fault accident or dispute about liability.

Does anyone know of a car insurance with MLP that includes Europe?
Or preferably a separate MLP not part of a car insurance?
Or alternatively MLP with e. g. home insurance etc. (something useful), as long as it includes Europe.
And if all fails, breakdown cover that includes MLP in Europe, although I’d rather not pay extra for breakdown cover in Europe as I will never need it, but if the price is reasonable and I can get the MLP ...

I’ve spent hours googling and I can’t find anything. Advice much appreciated!

Most legal expenses policies sold with motor insurance will cover the EU, either as standard or for a small fee that is payable to extend the full policy cover to the EU for a short period of time.
