Internet shopping for food

I have the ump with a lot of online shops lately, since the credit crunch began one is being ripped off royally and its getting worse I find. I am being sent partially rotten vegetables (Tesco lost me as an online customer this monday as enough is enough) or charging more for the shop than was ordered by handing out larger pieces of meat and the prices are not even close to what is on the website (I know meat is difficult but I opted for the smallest portions and I get huge massive ones), or always upgrading to the more expensive branded food if I do not explicitly state no upgrade or alternatives), not honoring the discounts when actually delivering, items missing, items squashed up by mixing tinned stuff with delicates like apples and bananas.
I will now get my backside out of bed again and go shopping directly myself and actually save money and maybe even saving time as my last online shop took over an hour due to their slow websites and having to enter alternatives or not to swap goods if not available.
To ensure one gets exactly what one wants I guess one has to go directly to the shops. The online shop morphed into around £15 more than what was on my screen. Someone on a tight budget could be hit with charges on their accounts if it takes them over the limit.
Also someone should tell their drivers that talking on the phone whilst performing a 3 point turn one handed with a delivery van is not a good idea at all.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you are talking about bad substitutions, you surely have a chance to reject these goods?
Mixing fruit and tins in the same bag is dumb,if thats what they did.0 -
I had a Tesco delivery at 10.40 one night, and after the delivery man had gone, I found the chicken and quiches stickered "sorry, only got today's date". Were they expecting me to have a midnight feast?0

i have used tesco before and they where rubbish. I have used asda's since and found them excellent, food all well within date and lovely fruit and veg, also if they cant find the product you want and the substitute is more expensive you pay the original price not the sub price.Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0

I hate Asda they are ok for a few weeks then suddenly it all goes downhill.1 of my shops had 5 subsitutions and 5 items unavailable.Tomatoes and cucumbers unavailable!!!! I find that difficult to believe. They're subs also seem to be a bit weird at times as well.I ordered nappies size 2 so they bring me size 1.Which I gave back but in those circumstances I would rather of had nothing at all or another branded name size 2.0

Dislike Tesco and Sainsburys online shopping.
I use Asda's mostly and can't complain. But if you really want good quality stuff, you can't beat Waitrose. AND they are not any more expensive than any of the others. The only problem I have with Waitrose, I hadn't used them for awhile and had been doing my shop on way home from work, was I didn't find their site great to use. It did use to be alot better - that was over a year ago.
Having said that, the quality of their food, especially fruit and veg, is outstanding. Check the prices, you'll be surprised, one assumes they will be dearer. I can't go in their shops as I dribble over the deli counter - and spend too much, but if you shop online, you can control the finances better!Genie
