i have an emachines pc thats died,i just wondered if the memory would work in my medion pc as its running so slow with vista.?

unlikely i'm afraid, the vista pc is more than likely on ddr2 whilst most older machines used ddr1, this transition from one technology to the other has happened a lot quicker than most other changes.
If in doubt consult someone familiar with hardware who can check the sticks, just don't try inserting them.
