Stair Spindles

Hi Guys...
I need to try and source some spindles for my stairs going upto my loft conversion. My builders have said they cannot get the ones that exist downstairs. I am extremely surprised that they cannot get them as there is no fancy design to them. They are rectangle in shape and are about 31mmx41mm. I haven't been able to find anything exact so where could I get these and how much do you think it will set me back?
Thank!

We've had spindles, skirting board and picture rail made at timber merchants. The skirting board and picture rail was made to match existing using the small piece we had as a template.
If you have a good timber merchant nearby and they do a matching or making service then you'll probably be surprised at the price (in a good way). We paid £3 a metre for our matched picture rail including the pine.0 -
Thanks.
I'll get the proper measurements and also try and take a photo... I suspect that the builder cannot be bothered to customise his standard template of implementing a loft!. He suggested that we change our spindles to match his which would have cost us extra. We told him that we wouldn't be doing that.
I will also enquire with timber merchants nearby.0 -
I found out what the exactly measurements 38mm x 25mm. I didn't know what stop chamfer was so looked it up and as far as I can tell the these spindles as just rectangle sticks.. No design as all.
I see what you are saying and I believe that the builder will be able to get 32 or 41 spindles... I will talk to him.0
