I may not be in the right place to ask but here goes. I tried to log into channel 4 and itv online to catch up with some tv shows and it won't let me as i'm not in uk( in cyprus if that makes any difference), do any of you clever folks have any idea how i can watch them, or am just going to have to go without??

You would have to be using a uk proxy server for it to let you watch this but not sure if that's allowed or not.

Alternatively you may have to wait on this

Legally you can't due to the broadcast rights issues.

Depends on the content provider. There's not one "de facto" agreement as it is done on an individual basis with each broadcaster.

But if something is illegal, it depends on the law, not a broadcast rights agreement.

I’d guess it’s because the BBC (& others) make money by selling programs to overseas TV companies. If the programs are available over the net then the market disappears

Could you try masking your ip address to a UK one.

Not sure if it would work though.

Buy a slingbox and get a freind or relative to set it up in their UK residence, great view freeview, you can then watch the TV via the slingbox in real time
