UKONLINE - not my favourite company
I asked for their nice cheap 512 broadband service back in June when the service first came to Basingstoke where I live. They said this should take around 3 weeks which was fine with me. I got a further e-mail later saying that things were now so busy that it would take at least another month on top of that so I cancelled and they returned my money for the modem and first payment of £9.99. After a while, I thought that they may have got themselves sorted out so re-applied under the same id that I had previously asked for. It all went through on the internet fine and they took £29.99 out for the broadband modem and billed me for the first month soon after.
I checked to see how things were going and it just said my order had been cancelled! I found out later that I should not have used the same user id and that was why the order had automatically cancelled itself. Nowhere was this mentioned!! Now I have the problem of trying to sort out getting the money back as I never recieved the modem and was never given broadband. The few times I have got through to them they always tell me I'm phoning the wrong department and I cannot get them to put me through to the right department without being disconnected and have to start all over again. Anyway, as I said, I got so fed up with this so cancelled and asked for my money back but still haven't been able to get through to them yet. I have e-mailed them from their internal e-mail on their website as well as just an ordinary e-mail to their customer service but have not yet had more than the auto-answer e-mail.
This may be the cheapest broadband but the service is diabolical. I think everyone should be very careful with this company. The people on the phones just don't care and I have spoken to at least 5 of their telephonists in various different departments and still cannot get any joy here.
Does anyone else have problems with them?
