Hello all. Don't know if anyone can help but I'm stuck with a couple of things. I'm not too technically minded so apologies for talking in plain English
.
I've just sold my "old" pc and once I've removed my photos and some other info from it, the new owner wants to reformat the hard drive. The pc was built for me by a friend earlier this year and the OS is Windows XP. I had a problem a couple of months ago when it just locked-up and I ended up buying a new hard drive and a new copy of XP. (I think the original copy was a, err, copy, but hey-ho, you live and learn.) After installing the new XP onto the new hard drive, I stupidly forgot to keep the serial number. Will I need this for re-installing it and if so, is there any way to find it?
My other "problem" is on my new Toshiba laptop. It's only a couple of months old and is running Windows Vista. I'm very happy with it apart from whenever I switch it on, I get three copies of "Google End User Licence Agreement" appear on the screen, all on top of each other, and the only way to clear them is to click on the box at the very bottom of the screen (where pages go when they're minimised) and delete them with "ALT and F4". Is there any way to clear them for good?
Thanks in advance.
Martyn.
