How long...

...in your experience, does it take, from getting off the phone or sending off the application form, before you have the card in your hand or the Balance Transfer in your current account.

2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 weeks?

Are some providers better/speedier than others?

If you mean actually having money BTed and in the receiving account, then 3 to 4 weeks for the quickest (Egg and Mint), 6 to 8 weeks for the worst (MBNA sometimes slow, CapitalOne).

  • Yes, that's what I meant Clariman. I'm just in the process of getting my first (Virgin) it seems to be taking a while.

I was interested to know, how long these cards take to arrive.

So, what do people do, for example if you've got 30k stoozed, because you can't have 1 day on the full rate now can you, do you apply 8 weeks in advance just in case?
