My junk mail box (Modus - web quarantine) is littered with emails from Nigerian scam artists etc, I often question whether the filter company actually sells data to get more junk email in (thus keeping your business! or else revert to 600 mails a day!).
Anyway, why do the bank scammers and 419 scammers realise their wording is so bad.
1) no one sends an email saying FROM THE DESK OF XXX
2) The Shell petrol tanker driver with a similar name didnt die in an explosion last week because they were on strike.
3) I do not wish to "take time out of my online experience" to update my details.
4) I resent being told I am not up to scratch in bed.
moan over.
i could write a book in Nigeria on how to write a genuine scam email.

Yet people still fall for it.
My daughter fell for one.
Lost £100, If she had only told her daddypoo's BEFORE she sent them £100 BY WESTERN MAIL I could have slapped her round the head with a wet fish, as it was she phoned me all excited and said her puppy is being shipped from Scotland, they were given them away (a pedigree worth £££) and she only had to pay shipping fee.
