Gas is with Scottish Gas and electric is with Scottish power. We have not used heating since we moved in 2 months ago (its broke) getting new system and boiler , radiators etc on Monday. I was holding back from switching as i never used gas in the new place and was therefore unsure what my monthly usage would be.
Should i switch anyway by getting what standard charges my provider are and ask around or wait with it?

It's likey that with Scottish Gas being the incumbent supplier that the rate you would be paying would be one of there dearest.
You could look at ebico for Gas, it's worth logging onto Scottish Power website if you have online account and switching to the fixed rate until end of Feb 2011.
Maybe someone else has other ideas which could be of help. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Have all the companies now upped their prices now??
My gas is with Scottish Gas. Rates are: No standing charge. standard tariff. 6.459 for tier 1 up to 678 kw per quarter. then 2.709 per quarter.
Electric is with Scottish Power. Rates are:standard tariff. standard charge is 15.810p per day. 11.799p per kw
So what do you think???0
