Electricity bill
When myself and my partner moved into our new house we had a card electricity meter. we soon had this changed to a normal meter but found, 3 months later, that no bill had turned up, despite E-On having our details. I requested on but they sent one out saying that the bill had been paid. Not only this but we'd made £10 and £5 payments at irregular times, as if we were still on a card meter. I advised them of this and they said that they would review the bill. 3 months later the same thing happenned, same process, same type of bill. We let them know again and they said the same thing.
We switched over our gas and electric to another supplier, and then we received a gas bill for around £300. Being that we were on a card meter for our gas we foudn this strange. turns out someone put a 1 instead of a 0, the bill was revoked. After that we received abill for £73 for electricity along with more strange payments that we apparently made. I rang them and they confirmed it should be more. The culmination of 6 months of unpaid electricity fell on our doormat, another bill for £363. After ringign them and explaining I didnt have that kind of money I found out that the payments on the bills belonged to an account from someone 50 miles away. i received several letters from UDS (Utility debt service) demanding payment. After the first letter they referred me back to e-On and they said that the final figure they sent was not correct as it included 6 months of weekly charges and they would inform me of the new amount.
I didnt hear from them until 2 days ago where I got another letter from UDS. Yet again they referred me back to E-on and I'm in the same situation again, waiting to hear from them.
Where do i stand and will this affect my credit history?

If the debt has been incurred over more than 1 quarter, my own view is that you should only have pay it over the same period as it took to accumulate. In your position, I would be asking for some amount of compensation for their maladministration. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -
since the last post I have not received any confirmation on how much I owe Eon yet, and am still receiving threatening letters from debt collectors, it has since been shifted to Moorcroft. I have emailed the director of complaints dept and am awaiting a reply. The energy ombudsman is interested in the outcome of this also.0
