central heating system

Hi, we live in a 1969 three bed bungalow, which at the mo only has a coal fire in the living room for heating and an immersion heater for the hot water. The house needs a complete rewire along with other things, but it is the central heating that we are thinking about now. What we can't decide is should we get a solid fuel rayburn to heat house and water and cook on, or gas central heating which would mean getting a gas supply to the house. Which would be the most economical to run? any help please!!:j
