I'm having a problem with Windows Live Messenger reinstalling itself. <b><b>
My hard drive failed a few weeks back so I had to reinstall windows, all is fine besides windows live messenger, it installed fine, worked fine for the day, the next day when I clicked the quick launch icon, it reinstalled before launching. Then it did the same the next day, ect. I've tried completely uninstalling, and reinstalling, same thing happens.
It's not the normal 'Windows Live' installation screen that pops up, it's this:

Any one have any idea what it is? Why it keeps doing it, it worked fine before the reinstall of windows.
Thanks.

I can only think of this. When you downloaded messenger was it with Firefox? if so it downloads to the desktop and leaves a setup icon there. if you click on this everytime it will reinstall. Look for another similar icon in the start menu and try this. Delete the setup icon on the desktop. Hope this helps.0

Thanks for the reply.
Sadly that's not the problem, I downloaded using IE and it reinstalls before starting even if I go into the program files folder and start it from there.Sigless0
