Capital one cashback card

Hi all,

just been approved for a capital one cashback card but having read the agreement it seems the 4% offer only runs until the 1st August and not September as advertised. This effectively gives me only one month of purchases at the 4% rate. Has anyone had this happen to them and if so, have you managed to negotiate a longer period? My plan is to pay for a large holiday on the card to get the cashback and then see about either paying it off immediately with savings or tranferring the balance to a 0% of 6 months card (one of the ones with no balance transfer fee). I would prefer to pay for it at the end of august which is why I applied for the card.

When was the account opened?

Have you read your T&C's (specifically the bit referring to 4% cashback for the first 99 days from account opening in the 'rebates' section)?

When does the 99 days take you up to?

BTW, you do know the max per month (for 4% cashback) is £1,500? How much is the holiday?

Thanks, I decided to call them to check. Contrary to what they say in their letter the 4% thing lasts for 99 days from account opening as specified in the small print of the credit agreement. So all should be OK. Yes I am aware that it only covers the first £1500 of purchases per month but thanks for pointing it out.
